May 3rd-May7th is National Elizabeth Fry Week.. Every year Elizabeth Fry Week is held the week leading up to Mother's Day because most women in prison are mothers. Many of these women are the sole supporters of their families upon their incarceration.
This year's theme is Human Rights in Action. Here are some of the Cape Breton team and why Human Rights is Important to them.

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Cape Breton would like to extend their appreciation to Nova Scotia Legal Aid for their generous donation of clothing. .
This donation will assist women and girls who are attending court, and searching for employment. Thank you!
The Elizabeth Fry Society of Cape Breton is proud to announce that our facility is now wheel-chair accessible! We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to the Community Entity for funding our Accessibility Project and making this website possible, as well as, making our community residential facility wheel-chair accessible. This will eliminate barriers to access our programs and services to women and girls in need.
